Principal

Aaron Kurlansky

Mr. Kurlansky is a co-Founder, and Principal of Sheridan Capital. In addition, he is a co-Founder of FM Capital. He has held the Principal position since FM Capital’s inception in 2007. He is responsible for portfolio decision making; overseeing the sourcing acquisition, management, and disposition of portfolio assets; and managing FM Capital’s commercial loan origination division. Currently, Mr. Kurlansky manages in excess of $1 billion in assets and throughout his career has handled the acquisition and disposition of more than $1 billion in assets. Mr. Kurlansky began his real estate career as a Property Manager at Crescent Heights of America in 2000. He joined First Meridian Mortgage in 2004 and became a Senior Vice President in 2009. Throughout his career, Aaron has originated well over $5 billion dollars in residential and commercial loans. Mr. Kurlansky is a licensed mortgage loan originator in Florida and New York.

David Berger

A hands-on CFO and trusted strategic adviser, David Berger is a high-energy problem solver, with strong business acumen, accounting, and financial background. David joined Sheridan Capital in 2021, and immediately created a long-term plan to allow for growth. Responsible for all accounting and financial operations. Prior to joining the company, David spent over 20 years in a successful career in public accounting as well as a partner in a large national accounting firm working directly with executives to improve tax efficiency, enhance business operations with a strong focus on growth while simultaneously recognizing the need to streamline operations and reduce expenses.

Director of Originations

Michael Yassky

Mr. Yassky is the Director of Originations at Sheridan Capital and is actively involved in transaction sourcing, structuring, and diligence efforts for the firm’s bridge loan programs and loan portfolio acquisitions. Mr. Yassky has over eleven years of investment and origination experience, including bridge loans, CMBS, distressed loans/portfolio acquisitions, and residential loans/securities. Most recently, Mr. Yassky managed Midwest originations at 3650 REIT, a national fixed rate lender. From 2014 to 2019, he worked at Ellington Management Group on the residential and commercial loan investment teams, and previously, as an analyst in CarVal Investor’s global loan portfolio investment group. Mr. Yassky graduated cum laude from Colgate University with an economics major.

Director of Asset Management

Ronnie Rosenbaum Esq.

Mr. Rosenbaum is the Director of Asset Management at Sheridan Capital and is actively involved in growing borrower relations, capital improvement review, and general portfolio oversight for the firm’s bridge loan programs and loan portfolio acquisitions. Mr. Rosenbaum started as an Asset Manager with FM Capital in 2017 where he specialized in legal oversight, forbearance negotiation, and REO improvements with an eye toward disposition. He has successfully managed over $1 billion in assets and currently oversees a portfolio of over $750 million. Mr. Rosenbaum is a licensed attorney and mortgage loan originator in Florida.

Russel Saltz

As FM Capitals’s Director, Mr. Saltz is responsible for overseeing all underwriting and investment modeling, portfolio management, business operations, and investor relations. His expertise resides with international finance, real estate finance, and financial policy. Prior to joining FM Capital, he served as a Project Director across several government contracts and as an Economic Analyst at the U.S. Department of Labor. Mr. Saltz received his MPA with Merit in Public and Economic Policy with a focus on finance and accounting from the London School of Economics and Political Science and his BS in Economics with Honors from the Pennsylvania State University.

Aaron Lemma

Aaron Lemma is an industry leader in real estate development. Over the last two decades, his intuitive instincts and industry knowledge have solidified a flawless reputation among clients, investors, developers, and financiers. Aaron’s career progressed quickly from residential and commercial real estate brokerage to handling the entire new development process, including acquisition, pre-development planning, and sales & marketing. In 2013 Aaron pivoted from the client side of transactions to the owner’s side as founding partner of LIVWRK, an urban focused developer of Real Estate. As the COO, Aaron has overseen over six million square feet of development valued at over three billion dollars in under 10 years. Projects ranging in size from 80,000 to 800,000 square feet across all product types. Always centered by a “project first” approach, accountability is paramount to Aaron. Among investors, co-developers, lenders, and team members.

Senior Analyst

Lee Schwartz

Mr. Schwartz is the Analyst of originations at Sheridan Capital and is involved in the financial, data analytics and accounting for the firm’s bridge loan and loan portfolio. Mr. Schwartz has worked for international accounting firms and most recently worked for Florida’s premiere public accounting firm, with a special focus on real estate accounting and structuring. Mr. Schwartz graduated summa cum laude from Lander College with an accounting major.

Portfolio Analyst

Talia Shachar

Mrs. Shachar is the Portfolio Analyst at Sheridan Capital. She assists in overseeing, analyzing, and tracking the progress of Assets Under Management. Mrs. Shachar has worked on the FM Capital team since 2016 where she gained proficiency in Commercial Real Estate lending. She joined Sheridan Capital as a Senior Analyst in 2020 and soon transferred to Asset Management. Mrs. Shachar graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and afterwards earned her Master's degree in International Real Estate.

Construction Analyst

Kim Savarese

Kim Savarese is a results-oriented and decisive leader with over 20 years of commercial, retail, and residential construction experience, including ground up core & shell work, value-adds, tenant fit outs and renovations. Ms. Savarese has widespread experience in pre-construction planning, value engineering, buy-outs and negotiations, coordination, contract development, day-today construction operations, job costing, budgeting, and scheduling. Kim has advanced at every role she has had. From Project manager to EVP with Tishman AECOM, GFI, Madison Realty Capital and LIVWRK.

Yael Btesh

Yael Btesh aids with client relations, financials reporting, and overall administrative tasks for Sheridan Capital. Yael is a student at FIU and began working at Sheridan Capital in May 2021 and has grown within the company ever since.
